Retirement Hopes Dim
Published 3/16/2011
Only 28% of U.S. adults agree that a middle-income family can save for a secure retirement, down from 30% in 2010.
Country Financial, Bloomington, Ill., has reported that finding in a summary of results from a recent telephone survey of 3,000 U.S. adults.
The percentage of participants who said they are on track to retire when they want to retire, in spite of the state of the economy, fell to 50%, from 53%.
About 19% of the participants said they expect to need $1 million or in savings when they retire.
