“Opponents of the [health reform] law seem to want to make any administrative glitch into a sign of failure. They are prepared to spread misinformation in order to try to inflame irrational opposition. A good example of these tactics is the reported $1 million media buy by the Koch brothers to assert that the ACA reduces choices, when in fact it increases choices. One can only hope that the media will have sufficient savvy to help set reasonable expectations, and to criticize administrators who fail to meet them, but also to call out those willing to lie and misrepresent what the law contains and what happens on the ground.”
— Henry Aaron, Ph.D., a senior fellow in economic studies at The Brookings Institution, told AIS’s Health Plan Week.
