According to a recent report:


  • 98% of employers offer some kind of health care coverage to their full-time employees, 95% offer dental insurance and 95% offer prescription drug programs
  • Over the last 5 years, there was a 12 percentage point increase in the number of employers offering health savings accounts (HSAs) and a 17 percentage point increase in the prevalence of employer contributions to HSAs
  • The median annual cost for employee-only health care coverage is $5,838
  • The median percentage employers contribute toward employee-only health care coverage is 80%
