Quote of the Day

Insurers “have a tendency not to want to come to a poor state and the poorest part of a poor state.”

— Stansel Harvey, chief executive of the Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Miss., told The Washington Post in a June 30 article about tens of thousands of uninsured residents in rural Mississippi who are not likely to get subsidies to buy health coverage on the exchange because no insurer is offering plans in 36 of the state’s 82 counties, including some of the poorest parts of the Delta region.
