- Tax To Average $589 Per Employee Per Year In 2019. (Estimate for plans projected to incur the tax)
- Tax To Average $660 Per Employee Per Year In 2020. (Estimate for plans projected to incur the tax)
Affected Health System Plans:
- 33% of active employee plans are projected to incur the excess-benefits tax in 2018.
- 39% of active employee plans are projected to incur the excess-benefits tax in 2020.
Note: Employers need to consider that the tax is measured as a direct function of plan cost, and not the actuarial plan value, and that a number of factors can drive excise-tax exposure.
