According to a recent survey, U.S. doctors report:

  • 93% actively use electronic medical records (EMR)
  • 45% regularly access clinical data outside their own organization, a 32% annual increase.
  • 45% receive alerts while seeing patients
  • 65% use e-prescribing
  • 78% enter patient notes into electronic medical records
  • 57% regularly use electronic lab orders
  • 62% receive their clinical results, such as lab tests, directly into their EMR system, a 24% annual increase
