According to a recent survey, when asked to choose among four broad approaches to changing the health care system:

• 36% said lawmakers should build on the Affordable Care Act to improve affordability and access to care
• 24% favored guaranteed coverage through a single government plan
• 16% favored repealing the ACA and not replacing it
• 13% favored repealing the ACA and replacing it with a Republican alternative
