71% of nurses prefer EHRs to paper-based records

A HIMSS Analytics survey found that 71% of nurses would not go back to paper records from electronic systems, with 70% of respondents saying EHRs offer more comprehensive patient information. Among the 626 registered nurses surveyed, 72% said EHRs reduce the risk of medication mistakes. Only 33% said they were able to spend more time with patients because of EHRs, and 43% said EHRs lead to less duplication of work. Clinical Innovation + Technology online
