According to a recent report comparing average wait times to see a physician:

  • Alaska had the shorted average wait time to see a physician in 2012: 16 minutes, 28 seconds.
  • The shorted average wait time in 2011 was reported by Wisconsin:15 minutes, 26 seconds.
  • Mississippi reported the longest average wait time in 2012: 24 minutes, 25 seconds
  • Mississippi also reported the longest average wait time in 2011: 24 minutes, 47 seconds
  • The major city with the shortest average wait time in 2012 was Denver, Colorado: 15 minutes, 15 seconds
  • The major city with the longest average wait time in 2012 was El Paso Texas: 29 minutes, 6 seconds
