8 Million Americans Have Undiagnosed Diabetes


Healthmine recently conducted a survey on blood sugar awareness. Here are some key findings from the report:

·         29 million Americans have diabetes.

·         83% of consumers do not know their blood-glucose level.

·         The cost of ignorance about diabetes is an estimated $322 billion per year.

·         8 million Americans are unaware of their diabetic condition.

·         Over 1 in 3 have pre-diabetes, or above normal blood-glucose levels.

·         90% of people with pre-diabetes do not know they have it.
