The CDC recently released selected estimates based on data from the 2015 National Health Interview Survey. Here are some key findings regarding health insurance coverage trends from the report:

For 2015, 25.3% of
persons under age 65 were covered by public health plans.

65.6% were covered by
private health plans in 2015.
·
The percentage of
children with public health coverage increased from 20.4% in 1999 to 42.2% in
2013.
·
15% of adults aged
18-64 had public coverage in 2010, compared to 18.9% in 2015.
·
The percentage of
children with private health coverage decreased from 69.1% in 1999 to 52.6% in
2013.
·
64.1% of adults aged
18-64 had private health coverage in 2010, versus 69.7% in 2015.
