According to a recent study, an increase of one Medicare primary care full-time equivalent per 10,000 beneficiaries was associated with the following outcomes:


  • 82.8 fewer deaths per 100,000
  • 160.8 fewer ambulatory care–sensitive condition (ACSC) hospitalizations per 100,000
  • 712.3 fewer emergency department visits per 100,000
