Five Things to Know About CDC/HHS Report on ACA and the Uninsured


1. An extra 20 million people now have healthcare access due to the health insurance exchanges

 

2. The uninsured rate fell to 9.1 percent across the country in 2015

 

3. The report estimates that 7.4 million people gained coverage in 2015 as compared to the prior year

 

4. When looking at non-elderly adults, the uninsured rate dropped from 16.3 percent to 12.8 percent last year

 

5. Insurance coverage among children also fell one percentage point to 4.5 percent
