Kaiser Family Foundation recently conducted a poll regarding public perspective on prescription painkiller addiction. Here are some key findings from the report:

2 in 3 Americans
believe the federal government is not doing enough to address the opiod epidemic.
·
44% say they
personally know someone who has been addicted to prescription painkillers.
·
1 in 5 have a family
member who has been addicted to prescription painkillers.
·
More than half say
prescribing doctors aren't doing enough to combat the addiciton increase.
·
Just over 1 in 3 say
police officers are not doing enough to combat painkiller abuse and heroin
abuse.
·
88% say increasing
pain management training for doctors is an effective policy action.
