Avalere recently released an analysis on provider offerings in Affordable Care Act exchange plans compared to commerical plans. Here are some key findings from the report:

The average ACA
exchange plans include 34% fewer providers than the average commercial plan.
·
There are 42% fewer
oncology and cardiology specialists in exchange plan networks.
·
Exchange plan networks
have 32% fewer mental health and primary care providers than commercial plans.
·
There are 24% fewer
hospitals in exchange plan networks.
·
Care provided by
out-of-network providers does not count toward the out-of-pocket limits in
exchange plans.
