Men Are More Likely than Women to be Uninsured

The Journal of the American Medical Association recently released an infographic on health care coverage and access for men from 2013-2015. Here are some key findings from the infographic:

·         6.5 million men gained coverage between October 2013 and March 2015, compared to 7.7 million women.

·         17% of men rate their health as fair or poor, compared to 15% of women.

·         1 in 5 men delayed or went without care in the past year and 12% didn't fill a prescription or skipped doses.

·         68% of men have a regular clinician they see when health issues arise, compared to 75% of women.

·         1 in 4 men discussed sexual health/history with providers in the past 2 years, versus 38% of women.
