According to a recent analysis of enrollment on the federal health insurance exchange in 2016:


  • Of the 9.6 million Healthcare.gov shoppers, one third (3.2 million) kept their previous health plan.
  • 25% of all Healthcare.gov shoppers (2.4 million) chose a different plan from their 2015 choice.
  • New enrollees to the market comprised 42% of Healthcare.gov shoppers, down from 53% in 2015
