Telemedicine is Unfamiliar to Most Consumers


Here are some key findings from a recent survey conducted by DentalPlans regarding what consumers know and think about telemedicine:

·         68% of survey respondents said that they were unfamiliar with telemedicine.

·         After reading a brief definition of telemedicine, 59% said that they wanted to try a telemedicine service.

·         The most attractive aspect (53.9%) was getting medical care without having to travel to a health care facility.

·         37% of respodents said that they would not (16.7%) or probably would not (20.4%) try telemedicine.

·         The top reason for disinterest was a preference to see their own doctor (65.4%).

·         3.3% of those polled had previously used a telemedicine service.
