Most Nurses are Dissatisfied With Their Practice Setting


Medscape recently conducted a survey on nurse salaries and satisfaction. Here are some key findings from the report:

·         68% to 88% of nurses indicate dissatisfaction with their practice setting.

·         Approximately half of all respondents reported satisfaction with their pay.

·         Nurses have a compensation range from $46,000 to $170,000, dependning on education and specialty.

·         90% of all U.S. nurses are women.

·         Male nurses are paid between 6% and 9% more than their female peers.

·         Full-time RNs who live in Western states earn the most on average ($105,000/year).
