53% of Americans Said They Had Never Heard of Counterfeit Medicines

Sanofi recently published a study examining people's perceptions of counterfeit medicines and some of the key findings include:

-  15% made the connection between counterfeiting and medicine
-  41% said they had no information about counterfeit medicines
-  53% said they had never heard of counterfeit medicines
-  40% felt that the danger from counterfeit drugs was potential
-  54% considered that the danger from counterfeit drugs was undisputable
-  82% felt that they had never been exposed to counterfeit drugs
