Agents and Brokers: Week 5 of the Open Enrollment Webinar Series Slides Available


The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has posted slides from the December 1, 2015 “Open Enrollment: Operational Updates and Announcements for Agents and Brokers Participating in the Federally-facilitated Marketplaces (FFMs)webinar series on the Agents and Brokers Resources webpage. Topics covered by this webinar include:

  • Key Open Enrollment dates and reminders
  • Cut-off dates for plan year 2015 special enrollment periods and changes in circumstance
  • Tips for reminding consumers of their rights
  • Walkthrough of the new Prescription Drug Check tool
  • Tips for consumers on Marketplace qualified health plan (QHP) deductibles
  • Overview of catastrophic plans
  • Highlights of the proposed Annual Notice of Benefit and Payment Parameters for 2017 impacting agents and brokers

CMS will continue to host these webinars most weeks through the end of Open Enrollment on Tuesdays from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time (ET). The webinars are open to all agents and brokers as long as space is available, so register today!

The schedule through December is as follows:

  • No session December 15 – First Open Enrollment deadline
  • December 22, 2015
  • December 29, 2015

Please note that the Agent and Broker Call Center will not have access to consumer information and will not be able to handle specific questions or issues with a consumer’s application.

  • Call the Marketplace Call Center at 1-800-318-2596 for assistance with enrolling consumers in coverage through the Individual Marketplace.
  • Call the Small Business Health Options (SHOP) Call Center at 1-800-706-7893 for assistance related to coverage through the SHOP Marketplace.
