The CDC recently released survey results on Americans under age 65 who struggle to pay health care bills. Here are some key findings from the report:

From 2011-2014, 1 in 5
persons was in a family that had problems paying medical bills in the past
year.

The number having
problems paying medical bills decreased from 56.5 mil. in 2011 to 47.7 mil. in
2014.
·
15.8% of males were in
families having problems paying medical bills in 2015, down from 20.5% in 2011.
·
Females in families
with medical financial difficulty decreased from 22.1% in 2011 to 17.3% in
2015.
·
12.7% of those who had
private coverage in 2015 were in families having problems paying medical bills.
·
1 in 5 people with
public coverage in 2015 are in families having problems paying medical bills.
