Did you know?
According to the latest data on the
uninsured from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Assistant
Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE), approximately 7.5 million
potential consumers who are eligible to enroll in the Health Insurance Marketplace
have not done so and remain uninsured. Of those potential consumers, over 1
million are Hispanics who may be in the market(s) you serve – some of whom may
require in-language assistance in Spanish. Perhaps it is time you consider
reaching out to help them and sign them up for Marketplace coverage.
Below is a break out of the top
markets with the largest number of eligible uninsured Hispanics by
city/metropolitan region.

Assisting
Hispanics with Enrollment
For your reference, we have created
a glossary of the most frequently used Health Insurance Marketplace terms in
Spanish. This tool can be useful when enrolling
Spanish-speaking clients and can be found on the Resources for Agents and
Brokers webpage at https://www.cms.gov/CCIIO/Programs-and-Initiatives/Health-Insurance-Marketplaces/Downloads/Marketplace-Frequently-Used-Terms-Spanish.pdf.
Agent/Broker
Training Available in Spanish
As a reminder, a Spanish version of
the CMS-developed plan year 2016 FFM training for agents and brokers is
available through the MLMS on the CMS Enterprise Portal at https://portal.cms.gov/wps/portal/unauthportal/home/.
Please note that completion of the Spanish version satisfies the agent and
broker training requirement.
We hope you find this information
helpful and that you have a successful Open Enrollment this year!
