Older Adults Need Vaccines Too
Medicare Part B pays for the Influenza (flu), Pneumococcal, and
Hepatitis B (for persons at increased risk) vaccines. It also pays for
vaccines that are directly related to the treatment of an injury or direct
exposure to a disease or condition, such as rabies and tetanus. Medicare
Part D pays for vaccines, like the shingles vaccine, unless they are
covered by Part B. To learn more about vaccine coverage through
Medicare, visit medicare.gov/coverage/shots.html.
